About Us
Service Excellence
At DNA Labs International we understand the importance of every case we work on. We understand that you may have questions, that you would like to discuss the case and that you bring a case to us because you want results that are accurate and fast.
Since 2004 we have been providing our clients with exceptional quality service based on open communication, equal attention to the importance of every case and accurate and reliable results every time.
We are proudly built on 30 years of experience in forensic serology and DNA analysis – from identification of biological fluids to DNA fingerprinting.
Technology
The opportunities to obtain results through DNA analysis have come a long way. No longer is it used only for the more serious and current crimes including recent rapes and homicides, but also for high volume offenses such as burglaries and cold cases that may have been on the shelf for decades.
At DNA Labs International we are extremely successful in getting results through the use of the latest technology available in the field including Y-STR analysis for sexual assault cases where the amount of female DNA would typically overpower any potential male DNA in a sample; and mini-STR analysis which allows us to get full profiles on touch/contact DNA, low-level and degraded samples, spent shell casings, bones and cold cases.
Accreditation
DNA Labs International is accredited by Forensic Quality Services - International (FQS-I), the country’s longest established provider of ISO accreditation to Forensic Sciences testing laboratories in the US. The FQS-I inspects US laboratories for adherence to standards set by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the DNA Advisory Board (established by the Director of the FBI). DNA Labs International complies with the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2005 and Forensic Requirements for Accreditation (FRA 1 and FRA 2).
FDLE DNA Pilot Project
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), in order to continue providing the best possible service to local law enforcement, has created a program that gives law enforcement agencies the option to submit evidence (at their own expense) directly to pre-authorized private laboratories for analysis and have the DNA profiles generated from their analysis entered into state and national databases by FDLE.
DNA Labs International has been approved by the FDLE to participate in this program.
Effective July 1, 2009:
Per STANDARD 17.2 Except as provided in Standard 17.2.1, an NDIS participating laboratory’s technical leader shall document approval of the technical specifications of the outsourcing agreement with a vendor laboratory before it is awarded. Such documentation shall be maintained by the NDIS participating laboratory.
17.2.1 A vendor laboratory that is performing forensic DNA analysis for a law enforcement agency or other entity and generating DNA data that may be entered into or searched in CODIS shall not initiate analysis for a specific case or set of cases until documented approval has been obtained from the appropriate NDIS participating laboratory’s technical leader of acceptance of ownership of the DNA data.
