CENTREVILLE — St. Joseph County Prosecutor Douglas Fisher Thursday submitted a laboratory report on DNA testing done in a criminal sexual conduct and abduction case.
Results will be used at a preliminary hearing for Sean Lee Lucas on Feb. 9. Lucas is charged with kidnapping, first-degree criminal sexual conduct, home invasion, second-degree criminal sexual conduct and assault with a dangerous weapon for the abduction and assault of a 10-year-old Sturgis boy on July 16.
In a report obtained from St. Joseph County District Court, evidence was collected from the victim, his clothing and the scene.
The report from the Michigan State Police Forensic Science Division in Grand Rapids stated evidence collected on the boy’s clothing matched a DNA profile obtained from Lucas.
The report also stated evidence obtained from the child is consistent with a mixture of DNA profiles from both the victim and Lucas.
Lucas is being held in the St. Joseph County Jail on $1 million bond.
