DNA Labs International Inc. Obtains ISO/IEC 17025 Accreditation
Company's Forensic DNA Sample Test Results Qualify to
Increase the Number of DNA Profiles in the FBI's National Database
Deerfield Beach , FL - June 23, 2005 - DNA Labs International Inc. today announced its ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation, which makes it one of a dozen private DNA testing labs to realize this achievement.
DNA Labs International combines 25 years experience in forensic serology and DNA analysis, use of the latest technology including Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), Short Tandem Repeats (STR) and real-time PCR, and board certified forensic DNA fellows to support the criminal justice system and reduce their case backlogs.
The ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation, which runs in compliance with national and international standards for the operation of accrediting bodies, enables all forensic DNA samples test results produced by DNA Labs International to be uploaded into the Combined DNA Index System (CODIS).
CODIS is the FBI's national database of DNA profiles from convicted offenders, unsolved crime scenes and missing persons, which allows State and local law enforcement crime laboratories to exchange and compare DNA profiles electronically.
"We are proud to say that DNA Labs International passed the accreditation process with conformance in all areas, and look forward to providing our clients with test results that will continue to increase the number of CODIS success stories," said Kirsten Noppinger - President, DNA Labs International, Inc.
According to the FBI, CODIS has recorded over 400 matches linking serial rape cases to each other or identifying suspects by matching crime scene evidence to known convicted offenders. These matches have aided hundreds of violent crime investigations.
"This is an exciting time to be part of the DNA community," said Noppinger. "As the benefits of DNA testing continue to become more and more evident, we are eager to make a difference through state-of-the-art technology and years of experience and dedication in the field."

DNA Labs International Inc. Holds Grand Opening on National DNA Day
Company Will Help to Ease Backlog of DNA Tests
for Unsolved Rapes, Homicides and Property Crime Cases
Deerfield Beach , FL - April 25, 2005 - DNA Labs International Inc. today announced its Grand Opening, which coincides with National DNA Day, the anniversary of the publication of the DNA double helix structure in April 1953.
"Today, with the available technology to process larger quantities of samples in a single batch we are able to provide the support needed to decrease existing backlogs with very quick turnaround times and at extremely reasonable prices," said Kirsten Noppinger - President, DNA Labs International, Inc.
As the benefits of DNA testing become more and more evident, the already massive backlogs of unsolved rapes, homicides and property crime cases continue to increase.
According to a National Forensic Study Report published by the Washington State University and Smith Alling Lane , P.S. in 2003, there are more than 500,000 crime cases with possible biological evidence either still in the possession of local law enforcement, or backlogged at forensic laboratories.
The report also indicates that more than 80 percent of DNA evidence is still being sent to State Agency Labs and only 2.9 percent is going to private or commercial laboratories. Although private labs provide the capacity for additional DNA analysis, the fees historically associated with these organizations made them an unpopular choice.
"With today being National DNA Day, we are taking the opportunity to announce our Grand Opening," said Noppinger. "We understand the importance of DNA testing, the lives it can change and the experience and dedication it takes to provide the necessary confidence in the services provided."
